Lee County Historical & Genealogical Society to Host Gravestone Preservation Program
Jonesville, Va. — The Lee County Historical and Genealogical Society will hold its regular monthly meeting on Saturday, October 11, at 2:00 p.m. at the Society’s headquarters, located in the former Old Friendship Church west of Jonesville.
The featured speaker will be Burke Greear, a historic gravestone and cemetery preservation specialist. Greear will discuss his experiences in preserving historic burial sites—from basic headstone cleaning techniques to the complete reconstruction of damaged markers.
This informative program is open to the public, and all who are interested in local history and historic preservation are encouraged to attend.
