About This Event

The Lee County Historical and Genealogical Society is pleased to announce our upcoming meeting on Saturday, September 13, 2025. We are honored to welcome Gloria Jean Miller, author of ABANDONED (An Appalachian Love Story), as our guest speaker.




Gloria Jean, born in Pennington Gap, Virginia, is both the author and subject of this heartfelt story. A lifelong journal keeper, she also enjoys painting and writing poetry. Her book is a moving account you will not want to miss.


  • Business Meeting: Begins at 2:00 PM

  • Presentation: Immediately following the meeting, also live-streamed on our Facebook page

  • Extras: Copies of Gloria Jean’s book will be available for purchase, and light refreshments will be served
