LCHGS Monthly Program & Meeting

Our October speaker will be Brad Scott. Brad grew up along the North Fork of the Holston River in Scott County, Virginia — “not far from Possum Creek,” as he would say.

Brad writes the blog By the Waters of Possum Creek, where he shares stories, essays, and memories of his family, his community, and the place that shaped him. His writing reflects a deep appreciation for local history, family memory, and the traditions of Southwest Virginia.

Brad is also a retired minister, having served in the Holston Conference of the United Methodist Church. We look forward to welcoming him and hearing his reflections on family, place, and the stories that connect us to our past.
